Many medical images are protected by copyright. While the images included on this page are meant to be used for educational purposes (adding to lectures, presentations, small group learning), in most cases they still need to be cited. Several of the databases make this very easy by downloading all the copyright/citation information with the image.
If you have questions about how to properly use/cite an image or video, feel free to contact the library.
Features over 2,000 illustrations and images from Gilroy's Atlas of Anatomy plus other prominent anatomy textbooks. The images can be used by faculty in lectures and students can use the self-study tools for review and self-assessment
These images are freely available, but most still need to be cited.
Google is where almost everyone goes to find images already, but in many cases, those images are not being used in a way that is compliant with copyright laws. We don't want that! Thankfully, Google Images makes searching for and selecting images which have Creative Commons licenses. This means that the content is free to use with the common requirement that you cite the image creator and/or use it for non-commercial purposes.
If you really don't want to worry about citing images, look for CC0 (zero) images. These images use a Creative Commons license which does not require attribution. There aren't a lot of medical-specific images with this license, but it's always worth a search.
